Hello, I am wondering if N-Pentylation can be caused to a substance by substitution of the methyl substance used to cause N-Methylation with a pentyl derrivative. If it depends, what does it depend on? If it can not be done this way, how is N-Pentylation caused to substances? I have recently noticed that a lot of organic chemistry reactions are substitutive in this way, but i'm not entirely sure. Thank you very much for your help.
