Hi,

I am using eugenol, pyridine and acetic anhydride to synthesize acetyl eugenol. I will appreciate if any of you could help me write the equation with mechanism. I know it is a type of esterification reaction but have no clues on how to start.

Thanks.

Start by identifying the acidic, basic, nucleophilic and electrophilic centres of the components of the reaction mixture.
