 Not true - you have two hydrogen at water molecule and charges are not balanced

but once i make 2 the coefficient for H+ the charges ARE balanced

but that doesn't change hte coefficients for Ce

No.

LHS = -2 +4
RHS = -2 +2*(+1) +3
