Homework help

Dtermine the mass of NaCl that would to be needed to be added to 15g of distilled water  to produce this solution?

Mass 5%       Denisty is 1.034 g/ml      find the Molal concetration,  Molar Concentraion   and Needed amount of NaCl?

Heres what I did

5g x 1 mol/58.5 = .085 mol NaCl

15g x 1 mol/18g= .83 mol H2O

100g x 1ml/1.034g   x  1L X 1000 = .097 volume

Molality = .085/15g  x 100g/1kg=5.7 m

Am iI on the right track??

Unfortunately - no.

Neither molarity nor molality should be higher than 1.

Start fidnding mass of NaCl needed.

Hint: 15g of solvent should be 95% of the final solution.

Then find volume.
