hi i am having difficulty with a project in which i have to scale up a lab bench reaction, referenced in a paper, to a production rate of 60000 moles per year. 1mmol of a compound X was dissolved in anhydrous dichloromethane (2ml) and ET3N (.5ml) under atm Nitrogen.Methanesulfonyl chloride (2mmol) in 2ml dichloromethane was then added dropwise. reaction time 3hrs. mixture was then partioned between dichloromethane and water with the oranic portion being washed succesively with 1% HCL, 5% Na2CO3 and water. It was then dried over anhydrous MgSO4 filtered and concentrated in a vaccum to produce final product which has a yield of 58%.
i found the reactor size and scaling up factor but i am confused about how to use it through the material balance
could anybody please offer advice please
appreciate any help thanks ;-)
