Is this equation right? for Cl - Na I

I've been asked to write a balnaced equation for
Chlorine water is mixed with Sodium iodide solution

My answer I think is -
2Cl + 2NaI ---- 2NaCl + I2

Is this correct?

Why I2 but 2Cl?
