Non adiabatic flame temperatures?
« on: February 24, 2010, 06:18:31 PM »
I've been doing some experiments recently that requires a Bunsen burner or other flame of at least 800C (though not too much over), but I can't find the realistic combustion temperatures of common fuels (propane, natural gas, butane) with and without added oxygen. Every source I've found gives the adiabatic flame temperature but since efficiency is rarely 100%, it's useless for me. I'm just wondering based on your experiences what temperature you can expect with the fuel connected to a Bunsen burner or from its own tank.

Thanks!

Edit: Okay, really unsure if this is the right forum for this to go in.
