.1M solutions of strong acid HI and waek acid HIO are contained in separate beakers beakers. for which of these solutions is the relationship [H3O+]=[X-] true?
a-HI only
b HIO only
Both
neither
and please answer why i am confused i know Hi for sure because its a strong acid but after that im lost.

When a proton is released from an acid in aqueous solution, it forms a hydronium ion (H3O+) and the conjugate base of that acid (X-).
That information, paired with your definition for a strong and weak base should lead you to the answer.
