producing glycylglycine from glycine
« on: March 22, 2010, 04:09:19 AM »
Hi, i need some guidance on the following questions..

1) Does prolonged heating of glycine at 170°C form glycylglycine?
(from my understanding, it does not form glycylglycine but a compound with formula of C4H6N2O2. But what is this compound? I don't quite understand the reaction)

2) What other compounds will be formed in this reaction?

Thanks a lot for the help (",)

I think it is the cyclic dimer.
