i know that this is not hgh school material but it sure is normal organic chem so if anyone can help me please do so..

my question is :
in erlenmeyer azlactone synthesis how do we prepare phenylalanine from hippuric acid(benzoyl glycine)??

i have tried and come upto making a lactone by adding acetic acid to hippuric acid. but now i am supposed to show the addition of benzaldehyde but i am unable to fugure out the  mechanism.

could anyone please help me??
