Potassium permanganate solutions are used directly for the analysis of samples containing iron in the +2 oxidation state. How might samples containing elemental iron and iron in the +3 oxidation state be analyzed for their iron content?

Thanks! I appreciate it.

KMnO4 is an oxidizing agent that oxidizes Fe2+ to Fe3+. Now what would you do if you had Fe3+?
Hint : It's not common for Fe to have oxidation state greater than 3.
