I've a couple of questions that hopefully you can help me answer. They're based around the relationship of one bond length with regards to another within a small molecule.
Firstly, if I have molecules, X-O-X and X-O-Y, (X/Y halogens), which one will there be more coupling within.
Am I right in thinking that the higher the electronegativity of the X in X-O-X will lead to more coupling, and so more variation in bond lengths when one is adjusted compared to the other?
And so when comparing X-O-X and X-O-Y it will depend on the molecules involved as to which will have the most coupling. i.e. Cl-O-I will have more coupling than I-O-I, (When adjusting the C-O and I-O bonds.)
