carbonyl-group bound to an electronegative element

A carbonyl-group bound to an electronegative element

1 - doesn't react with nucleophiles
2 - reacts with strong electrophiles
3 - generally loses the electronegative group in a reaction with nucleophiles
4 - none of the above

I think it would undergo a substitution reaction and lose the electronegative group to the nucleophile, which would make number 3 correct?

This is sort of a trick question, because depending on the carbonyl it will be 3 or 4.  Any more detail than that?

Nope, that's all the information they wrote... but they did write "generally", which does make the statement open to excepetions. Thanks for your help.
