A couple weeks ago I was working on a lab that involved dichromate. Later, when I arrived home I noticed a couple of orange lines, maybe half an inch each at most, stained onto my shirt that turns out to be the potassium dichromate . I ended up leaving it in the corner of my room while I debated what to do with it. Just earlier, my mother took the shirt (without me knowing) and washed it along with other clothes. I am now fearful that traces of cr(vi) may be on the many pieces of clothing that were washed. Or, would all of it had dissolved in the water and be drained? Maybe I'm just worrying too much. Any advice would be great.

btw I was pretty freaked out when I realized the dichromate was on my shirt for five hours o_o. but immediately I washed myself thoroughly.

Don't worry too much, it is not THAT dangerous, especially in small quantities and in the case of single exposition (as opposed to continuous exposition). And if already several weeks passed and nothing bad have happened - forget about the fear, just learn the lesson to be careful in lab.
