I always thought that the following equation was NOT neutrlisation:

Acid + Metal  :rarrow: salt + water

BUT

wikipedia suggest otherwise:

I would not classify acid/metal reaction as neutralization as well. Wikipedia is not perfect.

Actually you haven't even got the reaction correct. From your Wikilink it's:

acid + metal → metal salt + hydrogen

and

acid + metal oxide → metal salt + water

not


Acid + Metal  →  salt + water
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
