Understanding Pyrophoric Substances
« on: May 27, 2010, 07:08:27 PM »
I know that pyrophoric substances burst into flames when exposed to air, and intake oxygen at a rapid rate. But can someone give me a little more details about pyrophoricity, I can't find enough information on google to truly grasp it yet.
Thanks.

Study the safety issues with t-butylithium to start your studies in pyrophoric substances:

Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
