how to induce precipitation in DMF
« on: June 03, 2010, 02:50:24 PM »
Dear all,
I have reacted vanadium triisopropoxide with 9-Antracenecarboxylic acid in DMF. After the solvothermal reaction has been completed, the obtained liquid product consists is rather black. However, even after centrifugation at 10000 I can not separate precipitated product but still have very stable solution. My question is how to induce precipitation and how to remove residual reaction solution?

If you have pure form of your product, you can seed the solution. But you need to ensure the followings:-
1.Condition favorable for isolation of the desired compound.
2.Concentration of the solution and temperature.
