Glycerol, best use?
« on: December 30, 2009, 06:57:22 AM »
Hi!
Me and a couple of friends have been discussing possible new uses for Glycerol. We have been trying to find the most high yield product with glycerol and possible formaldehyde.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a high yield product that is also high in demand ?

regards,
Freddie

Hello Freddie,

Because the glycerol has formaldehyde in it, glycerol cannot be used for food use (unless you want to either react the free formaldehyde into something that is an acceptable food-grade product). This may be used as an antifreeze in industrial applications.

Did you make glycerol from formaldehyde?

Sincerely,

Eugene
