A little help? I'm taking general chem for the first time
« on: June 17, 2010, 05:46:53 PM »
1)A 25.00 mL of HCl solution was titrated to the phenolphthalein end point.  If 23.85 mL of 0.0991 M NaOH was used, what was the molarity of HCl solution?

2)An acid base titration is performed but some base that splashed onto the sides of the flask is not rinsed down prior to the endpoint measurement.  Will the calculated molarity of the acid be erroneously high or low? Explain

If anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

In an acid-base titration, same amount of moles (in H2SO4, the mole of the H+ should be twice, since 2 hydronium ions can be dissolved) of H+ and OH- react.
