Modern Atomic Theory

Assuming that ms could have three values instead of the normal two. The rules for n, l, ml are normal.

a) How many electrons would an orbital be able to hold? (I think 3 but not sure why haha)

b) How many elements would the first and second periods in the periodic table contain?

c) How many elements would be contained in the first transition metal series?

You're right for A, but you'll need to refine it more than 'you're not sure why.' You must have some idea if you got the right answer, right?

Any thoughts on b and c? Try adapting your answer from a.
