The Wacker oxidation gives methyl ketones with terminal alkenes (other than ethylene).

True, although the OP didn't stipulate what alkene.
Anyhows, other than that all I can think of is ozonolysis

Well, the classical way that wouldn't cleave out a carbon would be a multi-step procedure of hydroboration and oxidation.
