pKa of 35 not of interest in extractions using aqueous conditions?

Why is a pKa of 35 not of interest in extractions using aqueous conditions?


I thinking its because pka is much greater then that of HCl and NaOH that neither of these cause the substance of with a 35 pka to to leave the organic layer to move to the aqueous layer.


Is that any where along the right lines?

Think of water and leveling effect.
