Hydrates
« on: September 23, 2010, 11:14:18 AM »
Here is a question that I am stuck on about hydrates:

A 83.0 gram sample of a hydrate of sodium sulfate was heated thoroughly in a porcelain crucible, until its weight remained constant. After heating, 36.6 grams of the anhydrous compound remained. What is the formula of the hydrate?

Im not sure how to go about this!

Try to calculate how many moles of sodium sulfate you have.
