Redox?

A 0.01 mol sample of a vanadium compound required 20.00 cm3 of 0.1 mol dm-3 acidified KMnO4 for oxidation of the vanadium. what is the oxidation number of the vanadium?

I'm stuck after calculating the amount of KMnO4 which is 0.002mol.

Good start, now what is the half equation for KMnO4?

What are the possible oxidation states of Vanadium?
