First off, thank you to everyone who replies to this post. Your time and help is greatly appreciated.

So the question in its entirety is….

What is the effect on the boiling point of a solution (e.g. water) produced by a soluble nonvolatile substance(e.g. NaCl)? What is the effect of an insoluble substance such as sand or charcoal? What is the temperature of the vapor above these two boiling substances?

My answer…

Bp increases with a soluble compound
Bp is unaffected by insoluble impurities
I think the vapor temperature should equal the boiling temperature.

If this assumption is correct the…
Solution w/ Soluble Compound: The VT should increases
Solution w/Insoluble Compound: The VT should remain the same..

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated…
