I used a corona discharge ozone generator in my home and it left it smelling acrid; a subtle but offensive odor.  I suspect the residual odor is caused by the by-products of corona ozone generation; various nitrogen oxides.  I suspect they have accumulated in the carpet, and I have no idea how to remove them.

Is it possible to neutralize or reduce them?  If so, what chemicals should be used?  I have ordered a UV ozone generator, which should produce very little NOx by-products.  Will pure ozone destroy the NOx residuals?
