Help ....please
« on: October 15, 2010, 09:03:26 AM »
Hi,
I have a liquid that is made up of three parts...I know it contains 12% aluminium Chloride. The other two parts are water and Alcohol. How do I find out the percentages of the other tow parts? Is there an easy solution to this??

Thanks
Simon

I think you should try to separate water and alcohol by distillation. Alcohol, having a low boiling point will distill out before water. Then you can easily determine the amount of alcohol and water present in the mixture, and hence total composition of the mixture you have.
