Calculating the percent monomers of modified Isoprenoid alcohols

Hi... I am a newbie to the board and have recently been given the task of calculating the percentage monomers  of isoprenoid alcohols that have been modified from their natural state of.... H-(C5 H8)n-OH    to a disodium phosphorylated form of....
 H(C5 H8)n Na2PO4       'n' in the formula represents the number of isoprene units and as I recall from my student days, they are natural monomers.

 My question is.... am I right in thinking that I can calculate the percent monomer quite simply in this case by calculating the molecular weight of the isoprene  (C5 H8), and multiplying it by 'n' in accordance with the particular polymer length. Having established the molecular weight of the isoprenes,  I can then go on to work out the value by calculating the weight of the remainder of the molecule, adding them together and performing the usual percentage calculation. 

It all seems too easy to me.. and I do remember that not all monomers can be treated in the same way,  but can't  remember the rules to apply.

Any assistance.... even if it's to point out that I'm completely wrong would be most appreciated.
