We did an experiment using potato slices placed in containers with DI water, 9% sugar solution, and 17% sugar solution for an hour. Generally speaking, the results weren't surprising as the DI water slice gained mass and the two in the sugar solutions lost mass....however the 9% solution had -15.6% mass change, while the 17% solution had a -3.45% mass change...??? Is there something I'm missing here? The solution with more particles should have taken more water from its slice, right?....I think my lab partner may have mixed up the slices when doing the post soak measurements  ::)

...your thoughts?..

What was the mass change in the control?
