Hess Law, divide by coefficent
« on: February 14, 2011, 02:03:27 PM »
Hi,

I have the following target and given equation.

I understand that I am to manipulate the given equation but I am not sure how to divide as there are two coeifficients

thanks,

Target : FeO(s) + CO(g) ----------- Fe(s) +CO2(g)

Given : Fe2O3 (s) +3CO(G) ---------- 2Fe(s) + 3CO2(g)

thanks

Is there only one given equation? Usually you must have two.
