Hey guys im just curious, I was doing this experiment in lab, and in the experiment we mixed MnO2 , and KClO3 into a beaker. We heated the beaker, and the solution turned purple. Why did it turn purple? this has been on my mind for the past 2 days -_-

Purple usually means permanganate (MnO4-) solution. MnO2 was oxidized by potassium chlorate, a pretty standard redox reaction.
