Best way to make a battery?

Hey, guys. I need to make some sort of battery for an experiment and I was wondering what the best way to go about it would be. The more power I can get the better.
Is the standard copper/zinc galvanic cell the best bet or is there a reaction that creates more power?

What do you mean by power? Watts, amperes, volts?
Using other metals that have larger difference in galvanic series increases the voltage, like silver and magnesium. it should give out about 1.6V compared to 0.9V you get from copper zinc cell.

Chemists do it periodically on table.

I suppose I do mean the more voltage the better.
How realistic is a silver magnesium cell? Wouldn't that cost a lot?
