deprotonation
« on: March 23, 2011, 01:44:14 PM »
This is the question I am totally lost?

Given for the amino acid serine pK1=2.21 & pK2=9.15

a. show the chemical reaction for the deprotonation of serine from pH 1.0 to 14

b. explain the deprotonation of 3-phosphoserine from fully protonated to totally deprotonated and determine how many pKa's it has. Circle the major ionic species at physiological pH

I dont know where to begin I am really lost and help would be wonderful
