Intermolecular forces and solubility

Hi Guys,

On the subject of electrical transformers I have encountered fault gases and their various solubilities.  From lowest to highest solubility (in mineral oil) I have found the order to be : Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Carbon-monoxide, oxygen, methane, carbon-dioxide, ethane, ethylene and acetylene.

Could someone please explain to me the reason behind each gas' place in the solubility order.  For instance what is the difference between Methane and Ethane etc and why is Hydrogen so low and Acetylene so high?

I am aware of the "like dissolves like" principle, but in this case i'll need something a little more detailed.
