It it a MUST to write the full formula for ethanoic acid when it reacts with NaOH?

I know that NaOH can be abbreviated by OH- because of the full ionization of alkali

NaOH. How about CH3COOH? can I use H+ (abbreviated form) to represent all the

reactions involving CH3COOH? Or is it a MUST to write CH3COOH + OH- ??

I'm no expert but I would assume that your you should do it however your professor has specified.  If they haven't specified I would write the whole thing out to be safe.

NaOH - as a strong base - is fully dissociated, so solution doesn't contain NaOH molecules, just Na+ and OH-. Acetic acid is a weak acid, so its solution is usually dominated by undissociated CH3COOH.

I understand that CH3COOH is a weak acid

but I'd like to know if H+ can be used to represent the weak acid in ionic equation reaction or have to write it full (CH3COOH) even in ionic equation
