Embedding Energy - Meaning
« on: April 02, 2011, 03:36:01 PM »
Hi Guys,

I am studying Fullerenes and their potential anticancer possiblity due to the possibility of embedding an atom within the fullerene cages.

The paper I am reading quantifies the calculation by using the term "embedding energy". What exactly does this term signify? Would having a (+) embedding energy be a "good" thing for the molecule? If so, why?

Thanks guys
