We get Chlorine out of sodium chloride solution by electrolysis. Is there a similar process for lithium nitride?

I definitely do not want an explosive nitrogen compound.

I was hoping for some process that would convert nitrogen to some compound that was liquid or solid. Maybe that process would use moderate heat like a solar oven although room temperature would be better. Also, it would be nice if the process was reversible, maybe with the use of a catalyst. I know that catalytic converters in cars get rid of nitrogen compounds created by pressure and temperature.

I was hoping for a process similar to metal hydrides. That process takes in hydrogen and with further manipulation gives off hydrogen.

I guess nitrogen just does not lend itself to this concept.

Bill
