Ether and oxidations
« on: April 12, 2011, 07:12:07 PM »
We are probably all aware that peroxides can form in ether when exposed to oxygen or hydrogen peroxide (forgot to add general peroxy acids). But will other oxidants create dangerous amounts of peroxide when using ether as solvent? I will be using chromium trioxide in this oxidation.
