There is no oxide (O2-) anion in water, but it is an oxygen containing compound. It really depends on how you define an "oxide". Some would only say that ionic oxides qualify, since they actually contain the oxide anion, while some would include covalent oxides like carbon dioxide. In the latter case, water is an oxide.
