Energy Levels and Wave Functions
« on: May 16, 2011, 11:46:29 PM »
Guys, I'm in despair doing this problem, so please help me with this.

A particle of mass m is bouncing elastically on a smooth, flat surface in the earth's gravitational field. Determine the energy levels and wave functions for this system. (Hint: Solution of the Schrodinger Equation with the independent variable z is considerably facilitated by transforming to the variable η which is defined by the equations       where c is a constant.) Can you tell me how I should start with? Thanks guys!

Sincerely,
Paul
