Nomenclature - acid ions
« on: July 03, 2011, 01:39:19 PM »
Hello everyboy,

Since I'm not a native english speaker i would like to ask a question concerning nomenclature of acid ions.

An acid ion (an anion left after removal of acidic hydrogen atoms) should be called an "acid radical" or an "acid residue" ?

Thanks for an answer.

Tom

Correct, I mean "reszta kwasowa". Can I say as it's written in Wikipedia ? What about IUPAC? I tried to find sth in books placed on iupac website (golden, red) but i didn't find anythig.
