I need help
« on: July 01, 2011, 01:42:51 AM »
Hi everyone !!
Here I have some confuse may because I'm in first stage in chemistry.
I need to know the following points:
1- Importance of log in analytical chemistry
2- If Ka value or kb value are high or low, what does it mean for analyst?
3- If the rate constant K value is high or low , what does it mean for analyst?
3- Importance of Kw
Thank you

You're going to have to be more specific....a LOT more specific.

1- Log very important in analytical chemistry!
2- It means acid or base is very strong or very weak for analyst.
3- The compound hydrolyzes a lot... or maybe it doesn't; I'm actually not really sure.
4- It's important - E-14; you'll use it for finding Ka or Kb values for conjugate acids and bases.

Sigh. Answer as good as the question.

yes we should be more specific, you should understand what you are doing
here I have another question
Why pH scale is between 0 & 14 only, why can not it be less than 0 or more than 14?
Thank you
