Nomenclature
« on: August 03, 2011, 09:14:45 AM »
Hello everyone,

I'm wondering how to call an O-linked methyl-hexane side chain. E.g. with an O-linked benzyl side chain, I figured it's called benzyloxy (as in 3-benzyloxy-4-nitro-benzoic acid). Now what is the same compound, just "without the double bonds" in the side chain?

Thanks!

Benzyloxy with no double bonds would be (cyclohexylmethoxy).

My research: Google Scholar and Researchgate
