Cooling down reaction
« on: August 04, 2011, 03:19:40 AM »
Hey,

I'm doing some experiments using t-butyl hypochlorite... it's a bit nasty on my molecule, and at ambient temperature with stirring I managed to create a rainbow on my TLC in about 10 minutes. I'm wondering if there would be any point in repeating the process, with the reaction in an ice bath?

Maybe, maybe not. Do the experiment or you'll never know.
