GC-MS with split detection to FID: retention time offset?
« on: August 19, 2011, 07:41:58 AM »
Good day, all.

I've got a Shimadzu QP2010S GC-MS with an FID detector.  I've recently acquired a splitter so that both detectors can analyze samples.  I see an offset of retention time by 6 seconds at the beginning of the run and about 3 seconds toward the end of the run.  Is this normal or, if not, how do spectra typically compare?

Thanks!
