Mechanism for hydrolysis of RNA
« on: September 11, 2011, 05:58:50 PM »
Hi,

This is the last question on my problem set and I really don't know how to do it.

"It is known that divalent metal cations like Mg(II) or Zn(II) can catalyze the hydrolysis of RNA. Propose a mechanism for this process."

I'd appreciate it if anyone can point me in the right direction. I tried searching ACS and google.
