Simple question looks confusing - Quantum Numbers
« on: October 30, 2011, 12:23:20 PM »
Ok I need to write 16 sets of quantum numbers that describe the electrons of oxygen.

EG: The 4 sets of numbers that describe the 4 electrons of Helium are:
1,0,0,+1/2 : 1,0,0,-1/2 : 2,0,0,+1/2 : 2,0,0,-1/2

Ok i understand the + and - 1/2 is the electron spin and i understand that pattern but can please sombody explain how this works for oxygen. Thank you so much!!
