Dissolution of Caesiumdichloroiodide in Sodium Hydroxide
« on: November 13, 2011, 08:19:38 PM »
Been trying this for hours, but I don't see what should happen. I was told in the lab to dissolve Caesiumdichloroiodide in 10% NaOH solution. What are the products of this reaction? My best guess is CsCl and ICl, however ICl is brown, and the solution remained clear, so I'm a bit lost.
