changing osmolarity of the solution

I have a question - how can the osmolarity of a known molar solution be adjusted?

Adding inert salt? Or substance that will not dissociate, if you don't want to change ionic strength of the solution?

Okay.  Will the inert salt (NaCl) bring the osmo down?

Thanks!

Every dissolved substance brings osmolarity up. Look up the formula.
