Heat of reaction: H2SO4 in H2O
« on: December 30, 2011, 09:43:01 AM »
I feel like a noob asking this question...

I got 98% H2SO4. I want 50%. How do I calculate the generated by diluting the the 98% acid in water.. What info do I need?

Thanks...

Likely will need the :delta: H of hydration of the acid, but I'm not 100% sure.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
